Fat dissolving injections are used to reduce localised pockets of fat. These injections contain a substance called deoxycholic acid, which is a naturally occurring bile acid that helps the body break down and absorb dietary fat. When injected into specific areas of the body, it can target and destroy fat cells, leading to a reduction in fat volume in those areas.
Good candidates for fat dissolving injections typically meet the following criteria:

You are close to your ideal body weight, but have localised areas of unwanted fat that are resistant to diet and exercise. Common treatment areas include the double chin, abdomen, and love handles.

You have realistic expectations about the results. Fat dissolving injections are not a substitute for weight loss or a comprehensive body contouring solution. They are most effective for targeted fat reduction in specific areas.

Preparation: The treatment area will be thoroughly cleansed and topical numbing cream will be applied to minimise discomfort.

Injection Process: The fat dissolved solution will be injected directly into the targeted fat deposits using a fine needle. Multiple injections will be administered in a session depending on the size and number of areas being treated.

Sensation: You may experience some discomfort, burning, or stinging at the injection sites as the solution is being injected.

Post-Treatment Care: After the injections are complete, you will be provided with post-treatment instructions. Including applying ice to the treated area, avoiding strenuous exercise and excessive sun exposure for a few days.

It typically takes up to 8 weeks to see the full effects of fat dissolving injections, as the body needs time to process and eliminate the destroyed fat cells. Multiple treatment sessions may be required to achieve the desired results.
Following the procedure you will experience swelling, redness, warm skin and mild discomfort at the injection sites. These side effects are temporary and subside within a few days to a few weeks. Most people can resume their normal activities within a few days after the treatment but it can take up to 8 weeks for all tenderness and swelling to resolve allowing you to see the final result.
