Treatment FAQs
Not necessarily.
The amount of visible peeling varies depending on the treatment selected and your individual skin. Some peels create very little visible flaking while still effectively exfoliating and renewing the skin.
More peeling does not automatically mean a better result.
Most clients tolerate AlumierMD peels very well.
You may experience warmth, tingling or mild stinging while the peel is active, but your practitioner will monitor your skin throughout the treatment.
It depends on what we are treating.
A single peel can be perfect for refreshing dull skin before an event, while concerns such as pigmentation, blemishes, congestion and uneven texture usually respond better to a course.
We will recommend a plan based on your skin rather than automatically prescribing the same number of treatments to everyone.
Sometimes.
Depending on the peel and your skin condition, we may recommend an AlumierMD homecare programme before starting treatment.
Certain products including retinoids, AHAs and BHAs may also need to be stopped temporarily before your appointment.
We'll give you clear instructions during your consultation.
● Results vary from person to person
● A course may be recommended for more significant skin concerns
● Daily SPF is essential
● Correct homecare can significantly improve and maintain your results
● Treatment selection will always be based on your skin assessment
Dermal fillers are injectable substances most commonly consisting of hyaluronic acid. They are used to effectively add volume, smooth folds, and improve facial features, giving you a refreshed and youthful appearance.
Good candidates for dermal filler treatments are typically seeking to address specific areas including lip enhancement, cheek volume enhancement, tear trough filler, and non-surgical rhinoplasty. Dermal fillers can also address various signs of aging, such as deep wrinkles and folds, volume loss, and pre-jowls. Not everybody is suitable for dermal filler treatments depending on your individual case and desired outcome. Your desired outcome and suitability for the treatment will be assessed at the initial consultation.
-
Consultation: A consultation will take place to discuss your treatment goals and medical history.
-
Ultrasound: An ultrasound scan of the treatment area may be performed for safety and efficacy of treatment.
-
Preparation: The treatment area is thoroughly disinfected. Numbing (cream or injections) are used to provide maximum comfort during the treatment.
-
Injection: Once the area is prepared, the dermal filler is carefully injected beneath the skin using a fine needle or cannula. The injection process is relatively quick and usually well-tolerated. After the injections, the practitioner may massage the treated area to ensure the filler is evenly distributed. They will also assess the results and make any necessary adjustments to achieve the best result.
-
Post-treatment care: You may experience some mild swelling, redness, or bruising at the injection site. You will be provided with post-treatment care instructions to minimise any potential side effects and ensure the best results.
-
Follow-up: A follow-up will be arrange after 2 weeks to ensure your treatment has healed well and assess the need for a top-up if applicable to achieve best results.
-
You will see the change immediately after your treatment! However, you will be able to see the final result after 1-2 weeks once the area heals and the filler settles into it's final position. The long-term results can last from several months to over a year, depending on the filler type, treatment area, and individual patient factors.
Immediate post-treatment effects may include swelling, redness, and bruising. These begin to subside within a few hours to a few days. The complete healing process usually takes 2 weeks. Following post-treatment care instructions is essential to ensure a smooth healing process and optimal results.
