Treatment FAQs
Our treatments are tailored to your natural anatomy and desired result.
If you want a subtle enhancement, your treatment will be planned accordingly. We won't recommend adding volume simply for the sake of using more filler.
Swelling is common after lip filler and is usually most noticeable during the 2-3 days. Bruising and tenderness can also occur.
Your lips should not be judged immediately after treatment as they need time to settle.
You’ll see a change immediately, but swelling can temporarily alter the appearance.
The result becomes easier to assess as swelling settles, generally over the following couple of weeks.
Longevity varies between individuals and depends on factors including the product used, amount injected and individual metabolism.
On average results can last anywhere from 6 months to over 12 months.
Maintenance treatment can be performed when appropriate.
Some individuals may find Lip filler uncomfortable depending on pain tolerance level.
We take measures to make sure the treatment is very comfortable, and most of our patients report a pleasant experience.
Previous filler doesn’t automatically mean you need it dissolved. We recommend booking a consultation assess your lips first.
If existing filler is affecting the shape or suitability for further treatment, we’ll discuss the most appropriate options with you.
Dermal fillers are injectable substances most commonly consisting of hyaluronic acid. They are used to effectively add volume, smooth folds, and improve facial features, giving you a refreshed and youthful appearance.
Good candidates for dermal filler treatments are typically seeking to address specific areas including lip enhancement, cheek volume enhancement, tear trough filler, and non-surgical rhinoplasty. Dermal fillers can also address various signs of aging, such as deep wrinkles and folds, volume loss, and pre-jowls. Not everybody is suitable for dermal filler treatments depending on your individual case and desired outcome. Your desired outcome and suitability for the treatment will be assessed at the initial consultation.
-
Consultation: A consultation will take place to discuss your treatment goals and medical history.
-
Ultrasound: An ultrasound scan of the treatment area may be performed for safety and efficacy of treatment.
-
Preparation: The treatment area is thoroughly disinfected. Numbing (cream or injections) are used to provide maximum comfort during the treatment.
-
Injection: Once the area is prepared, the dermal filler is carefully injected beneath the skin using a fine needle or cannula. The injection process is relatively quick and usually well-tolerated. After the injections, the practitioner may massage the treated area to ensure the filler is evenly distributed. They will also assess the results and make any necessary adjustments to achieve the best result.
-
Post-treatment care: You may experience some mild swelling, redness, or bruising at the injection site. You will be provided with post-treatment care instructions to minimise any potential side effects and ensure the best results.
-
Follow-up: A follow-up will be arrange after 2 weeks to ensure your treatment has healed well and assess the need for a top-up if applicable to achieve best results.
-
You will see the change immediately after your treatment! However, you will be able to see the final result after 1-2 weeks once the area heals and the filler settles into it's final position. The long-term results can last from several months to over a year, depending on the filler type, treatment area, and individual patient factors.
Immediate post-treatment effects may include swelling, redness, and bruising. These begin to subside within a few hours to a few days. The complete healing process usually takes 2 weeks. Following post-treatment care instructions is essential to ensure a smooth healing process and optimal results.
